After the brutal murders of Nisa Mickens, 15 and her best friend Kayla Cuevas, 16, in September 2016, allegedly by members of the MS-13 gang, the Brentwood community came together to passionately defend their home as a close-knit community where people look out for each other, and where residents of different races and ethnicities live side-by-side in harmony.
